MLK District Garden

The MLK (Martin Luther King) District Garden was established in 2013 by Permaculture Designer AnnaMaria Leon, Dr. Isreal of the North Lawndale Greening Committee ,
and Tracey Worthy of I Am Able.
The MLK District garden is located on the north lot of 16th and Ridgeway and is the cornerstone permaculture site for the Greening of 16th Street. This community permaculture garden was started in 2013 by North Lawndale community members with the immense efforts of permaculture designer AnnaMaria Leon, Dr. Isreal of the North Lawndale Greening Committee, and Tracy Worthy of I Am Able.
This permaculture sites features various fruit tree guilds, perennial fruiting shrubs and vines, trellises all planted on polish berms, assuring regenerative soils and safe plantings for annual greens and vegetables.
