Permaculture Chicago Teaching Institute
The Permaculture Chicago Teaching Institute (PCTI) was born out of our commitment to creating urban spaces that are beautiful, regenerative, and useful for ourselves and our communities.
The Institute is an actionable response to climate adaptation. It is a demonstration of how we can live the permaculture principles of Caring for Our Earth, Caring for People, and Caring for and Sharing Surplus with Our Community.
After many conversations and soul searching we opened up the Permaculture Chicago Teaching Institute at"Plenitud House" located in North Lawndale, on the Westside of Chicago. Plenitud is a Spanish word which means "something long yearned for and now fulfilled.
PCTI is a community center where people teach, learn, share skills, and bring to fruition personal and communal visions with the spirit of collaboration and appreciation of each others' uniqueness.
We welcome you into our community and invite you to connect with us. Please contact us if you would like to offer a workshop, host an event.
"It was wonderful to have a teacher show me and other curious minds how to identify, harvest, and use a variety of different native herbs. She was pleasant, informative, and she demonstrated acknowledgment and respect for the life of each herb as she taught, which I appreciated most."
— Cecilia, Student of Utilizing a Medicinal Garden workshop
